 The NV53A32u is a mid-range model in Gateway's NV53A series of 15.6" consumer notebook computers all equipped with mainstream AMD processors and entry-level discrete graphics chips, targeting a casual-gamer audience.

It utilizes a faster dual-core CPU than the entry-level models, the 2.5GHz Turion II X2 P520, and is equipped with 4GB instead of 3GB of DDR3 RAM, but relies on the same 256MB of dedicated graphics memory via ATI's Radeon HD 4250. LED backlighting helps extend battery life to 3.7 hours while increasing brightness, and an HDMI port allows HD video stored on the laptop's 500GB hard drive to be displayed on larger panels. Built-in wireless-N and a media card reader are also standard.
