Fender Super-Sonic 112 Combo

$1,780.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Enough power output for practices and live performances in smaller venues. Effects loop offers lots of options and is easy to work with. Warranty covers almost everything out of the box and implies a long-lasting durable build.

The Cons:No power attenuator for an overly loud amp. Some minor quality control problems, check all the LEDs and the build quality upon receipt.

The Fender Super-Sonic 112 Combo is a high mid-cost 60 watt guitar amplifier. Fender promotes this amp as being a combination of sparkly '65 Vibrolux tone, thick '66 Bassman tone (both accessed through the Vintage channel), and smooth modern tone (accessed through the Burn channel).

The dual cascading-gain preamp overdrive of the 112 Combo helps to give this amp more sustain and compression than any previous Fender amp. The single 12" Celestion Vintage speaker aids in the classic tone of this amp. The Baltic birch ply construction of this amp increases resonance, which makes for a thick, full tone. This amp is a step up from the lower cost 22 Combo in that it is 60 watts as opposed to 22, and has spring reverb (which is natural and more vintage-sounding, as opposed to the 22's powered reverb, which does not sound as authentic). However, this amp is a step down from the slightly higher cost 60 Combo in that it lacks the 4-button footswitch and ivory knobs. The Fender Super-Sonic 112 Combo comes with a five year limited warranty, and there are color options available.
