It hosts a wildly improved weather system wherein rain causes a loss of traction, a research-based development system wherein users are given options to new parts and upgrades as they are developed, and two career modes—a three-year and a five-year. There are also pit stops, “dramatic night-racing” features, and quick-fire races and time trials. There’s also 12-player online multiplayer. The signature improvement is with the team playing, as each team has its own objectives, and the associated media attention varies widely.
