The DeMarini The One is an ASA-approved softball bat while its counterpart, The One – USSSA – is a USSSA-approved softball bat. Both units are outfitted with Demarini’s “Half & Half” technology, wherein a 13” barrel has been fused with a thin, pitch-black handle at the top of the taper.

Both pieces have been uniquely designed, with the barrel meant for flex and rebound at impact, while the handle is stiff for getting the barrel through the hitting zone quickly. The difference is that the USSSA model is more durable and stiff, which critics say allows it to “swing more like a one-piece bat without a lot of handle flex.” Also included on both models is a 12-spoke end cap and knob (“Clutch”) engineered to focus energy and return it back to the barrel; a “Positack” moisture-absorbing textured grip for reduced vibration and hand fatigue; and “Stacked” optimized multiple walls separated by Power Ply for a larger sweet spot.
