Other features includes up to 2GB of DDR2 ram, up to 100GB 7200RPM hard drive, and DVD writer. With all these powerful components it does have a downside: size and weight. At 1.67 inches thick and a weight of 8.6lbs, the XPS M170 is by no means a thin and light notebook computer; it is better suited as a desktop replacement or a mobile gaming platform. In terms of connectivity, it has a gigabit ethernet port, wirrless b/g card, and a PCMCIA expansion slot.
