The keyboard hosts media control buttons (such as play, pause, fast forward, rewind, etc.) and Dell's MediaDirect (which essentially acts as a remote control for Microsoft Office, music, video and photos without having to navigate the OS). The included wireless features include mobile broadband (high-speed internet anywhere a cell phone signal is available), a wi-fi catcher (finds strongest wi-fi signal available), advanced antenna design (three antennas to maximize signal strength) and Wireless-N technology (faster data transfer when used in combination with Wireless-N router). The Inspiron 1420 comes loaded with Microsoft's Windows Vista OS (which can be changed if required) and a 2.0-megapixel webcam. Like most Dell laptops, the Inspiron 1420 allows for multiple upgrade options such as an integrated Blueray player, various technical features and eight different colours.
