Angela Walker: #chanel_chance_parfum Not sure why you had any problems unless it was knocked down, transported in a purse, or gotten into by a child. I have this parfum in the same bottle and never have had the type of problems you have mentioned. I kept mine in the cute box it came in for about a year and only removed it when it was being applied. I have had it out of the box and displayed on a shelf for an additional year and it is still just as it was the first time I used it 2 years ago. I don't use it often which has most likely extended the life of the product in the bottle. I always have a bottle of 3.4 oz EDP so I use that most often, the parfum is used for special occasions or when I am wanting a longer lasting scent than even the long life provided by the EDP.

I agree that perfume does have a shelf life but 8 months is not too long to have a high quality perfume or parfum. I know my Nonni had a very expensive bottle of perfume that lasted several years and smelled exactly as it did when originally bought. An inexpensive bottle of perfume my daughter was given by a friend didn't even last 6 months before it smelled rancid so it appears to depend on the quality and way it is created.

As for me I won't wear any perfume other than Chance Chanel. I have worn it since the year it was released in 2002. I still get many compliments from both men and women every time I have it on. I can apply it in the morning and after a shower and still can smell traces of it the next morning before a shower. Of course this only works with the EDP or parfum, the EDT would never last as long which is why I won't buy the EDT version of it! Dec 21, 09
