Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive Plus (WD962KD)

$259.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Very quiet operation - very difficult to tell it's running from inside the house. Battery backup power will open the garage door in the event of a power outage. Includes wireless keyless entry system.

The Cons:Light comes on EVERY time you break the beam - wastes energy. Sectional rail may be too weak for heavy doors. Mine is 530lbs and the rail bends about 3" when auto-reversing. Doesn't open extremely fast.

The Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive Plus (WD962KD) is a specialized garage opener that works even with the power goes out. It features an EverCharge Standby Power system capable of operating the opener 20 times within a 24-hour period, after-which it’ll recharge upon the re-arrival of power.

Featured is a ¾ HPS DC belt system designed for ultra-quiet performance, an ultra-strong and reinforced belt, and an auto force-sensing system that adjusts the force used depending on temperature fluctuations, floor height, and door track movement. Signature though are Protector System safety sensors that automatically reverse the door in case anything or anyone—such as a child—interrupts the beam.
