The Chamberlain LiftMaster Premium Series 3240 is a ½ HP Screw Drive garage door opener from the Chamberlain LiftMaster Premium Series. It’s the only Screw unit among its peers. Though screw drives are much noisier, critics say that they never break and fall—whereas belt and chain drives must be replaced or lubricated on a somewhat frequency basis to prevent potential damage.

The 3240 is essentially 100% maintenance-free; plus it hosts MVIS technology, which helps at least somewhat curb the noise output. Included are a bevy of advanced features—a Smart system for programming security codes from the control panel, safety sensors that reverse the door if anyone or anything interrupts the beam, and an anti-theft system that keeps the unit locked when closed.
