The Exilim EX-G1 is a rugged digital camera, designed to be weatherproof similar to G-Shock watches also from Casio. The Exilim EX-G1 has a two-layer construction with a stainless steel outer-casing. This means the camera is dustproof, waterproof up to 3 meters for an hour, coldproof down to -10°C (14°F) and shock-resistant for drops up to 2.13 meters.

Marketed under the “Exilim G” name, the device’s profile measures 20mm, features a 2.5” LCD, a 12.1 megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom. Other features include “Intelligent AF” (auto focus) and “Best Shot” (scene detection) mode to make photography easier in outdoor conditions. The “Interval shooting” mode allows users to automatically take photos or movies at fixed intervals, allowing for shots to be effortlessly taken during such sports as cycling, snowboarding or wind surfing. Movies can be shot in widescreen format (16:9) at standard definition quality.
