The Point-3 has an upgraded and more sensitive GPS receiver than the Original. It still uses a grayscale LCD and has a compact weatherproof form factor. This model has a metal clip ring that can be attached to a clip or lanyard, and it uses two AAA batteries. It has a self-calibrating digital compass and displays distance and direction to the marked locations.
