Boss MT-2 Metal Zone
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Responsive to your foot press, with a nice spring-back to let you know you've hit it. Many tweaking options to get the exact desired sound. Output is high-quality, doesn't loose any of the signal.
The Cons:Takes some tweaking to find the exact sound you want sometimes.
The Boss MT-2 Metal Zone is an extreme-gain distortion pedal designed for huge mids and lows, and an ultra-saturated sound. It builds from the ML-2 Metal Core by offering precision tone controls so users can dial in the exact amount of room shaking, sustain filled distortion they need.

In particular, the device comes with a 3-Band EQ for setting high/low shelving, as well as tweaking the mid-band parametric sounds. Users can also control volume and distortion levels. Note that expert reviewers say the MT-2 is geared best for Hard Rock and Metal, as the distortion is typically very heavy. Note also that at least a mid-quality amp is required.
