The Boss ML-2 Metal Core is an extreme-gain distortion pedal designed for genres that require crushing sound. Designed for simple operation, the metal pedal simply connects to a guitar and plugs into an amp, and is ready to use via four swivel knobs: level, low, high, distortion.

It’s built durable like a tank but does include a 5-year warranty. Expert users rave that the ML-2 provides distortion that is neither too heavy nor too crunchy. The problem however is that the unit is limited, as it doesn’t offer many tweaking options, meaning it’s not as versatile as the MD-2. However, for those really into metal, this option is more optimal.
