Bose Free Space 51

$449.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Excellent stereo imaging, rivals indoor speakers in this capacity. Truly non-directional performance makes these sound clear regardless of position of listener. Simpler alternative than outdoor speakers that must be bolted, hidden, or protected.

The Cons:Bass frequencies lack depth, do not perform as well as sets with a subwoofer. Green color scheme is somewhat limited in its camouflaging capacity, does not blend well with stone or wood.

The Bose Free Space 51 is an outdoor speaker system from Bose. This speaker system is being marketed by Bose as a specifically "Landscape" speaker system, which refers to the fact that the system has full 360 degree sound coverage.

Where to Buy

The "Landscape" branding also refers to the fact that these speakers are designed for ground use (in-ground or placed on a hard surface), as opposed to mounting. This system is for hooking up to your existing audio equipment (w/ speaker wire), and if you have a Lifestyle SA-3 amplifier, you can use the Bose Free Space 51 to extend your existing Lifestyle system outdoors. Like all of Bose's outdoor speaker systems, the Free Space 51 has a full-range driver built in, and is both weather and water resistant.
