ATI FirePro V8750
$1,207.27
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Supports a vast number of features, OpenGL3.0, dual-link DVI, and CrossFire Pro (requires driver support). Offers improvements over the V8700: faster memory, bigger memory bandwidth, lower power consumption, the latter in particular will have an effect on long term costs. CrossFire Pro increases performance by a significant margin, but with all workstation graphics card, it is highly dependent on the application that it is used with.
The Cons:Tremendous price premium over the V8700, it is up to the users to decide whether the difference is worth the hefty initial investment. No CrossFire Pro support for Linux (yet).
The ATI FirePro V8750 is an ultra high-end video card for 3D workstations that need a lot of power for rendering. The price increase from the V8700 is just for the new RAM, as all other specifications are identical.
