It is ten times as fast as USB 2.0, and also supports all USB 2.0 devices as well as new USB 3.0 devices. The Turbo Key II technology allows a user to press a switch that elevates the CPU to a higher state, while at the same time remaining stable. This enhances the performance of the computer. The heat pipe solution of the motherboard cools it using a highly efficient heat exchange process. This eliminates the need for a fan, which gets rid of most of the computer's noise. When compared to another Asus motherboard, the Crosshair IV Formula, the M4A89TD PRO/USB3 has some slight advantages because of technologies the Crosshair IV Formula lacks, such as a noise filter.
