Alien Swarm

Released July, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Free to download and play. Publically hosted game servers. Multiple characters with their own job skillsets and performance bonuses.

The Cons:Only a single story-line / 'map pack' so far. Step from normal to hard difficulty level is a little steep. Run-and-gun game design can get boring fast.

Alien Swarm is a free, top-down shoot’em up video game released for Microsoft Windows in July 2010. It’s essentially a remake of the Alien Swarm mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 that was produced by the original creators of the game who were independently hired by Valve to work on various other games.

Product Shot 2 Featured is the ability to co-op with three other players, as well as use over 40 weapons, 4 unique classes, 8 unique characters, and 64 achievements. Signature though is the game’s customization options, in that users can enable the Developer’s Console and then start making changes, such as switching from third-person to first-person.
