Acer Aspire Ethos 8943G

The Acer Aspire Ethos 8943G is a higher-end, 18.4" gaming and multimedia laptop. Launched alongside the scaled-down, 15.6" 5943G, the PC is available with one of several dual- or quad-core processors from the Intel Core i5 and i7 lines.

The 8943G comes with a choice of graphics cards up to the high-end ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850, and up to two 640GB hard drives. The 8943G adds to the 5943G a full HD resolution and internal 5.1-channel surround sound. Both models come with up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and use LED backlighting to improve brightness and reduce energy consumption, although the 8943G's battery life is still only 3.5 hours. An optional Blu-ray drive adds to the laptop's entertainment capabilities.
