The Aspire 8942 includes an optional Blu-ray drive and multiple audio enhancement technologies, and makes full use of them with a 1080p resolution and five speakers, features which the 5942 lacks. The panel is LED-backlit, saving energy and improving image quality, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are standard. While the notebook will likely be available with integrated graphics for non-gamers, a mid-range discrete graphics chip, the ATI Radeon HD5850, is also an option.
